A Configuration Dialog for Emir

Currently I’m working on a configuration dialog for Emir. To minimize the efforts I’m using NetBeans 5.0 beta and lately RC and its new GUI builder Matisse. Basically it supports all Layout variants from earlier versions, but it also includes its own layout, which is quite usable, especially for config forms. Well, in short, its the best GUI builder I’ve ever seen in Java. This does not mean its ultima ratio, but its on the way, quite some steps ahead of IntelliJ’s try, Eclipse and JBuilder. See the flash demo to get a glue of it.

To add some words about the configuration dialog: It will have the same style as the “old” FireFox properties dialog, not based on tabs, but using icons for preference pages. See the screenshot for my first suggestion. As I only have created the GUI until now, there has to be some more work done on the mapping form configuration singleton. I hope I will get it done soon, otherwise I will push out another release before.
