IntelliJ Idea 5.1 released
February 7, 2006 on 9:19 am | In General, Software |Today Jetbrains released version 5.1 of the popular IntelliJ Idea Java IDE. In general its the same as 5.0 with a lot of bug fixes, but some new things are to mention. A very new feature is the JavaScript support with syntax highlighting and auto complete, which should be quite handy for the few Ajax (Asynchronous Javascript And Xml, a Web 2.0 thing .. for those of you who never heard about it) developers around. I18n finally found its way into Idea, well that was a point where Idea was lagging behind. A list of new features can be found at the Idea product page.
For people liking the uncertain I recommend the early access builds of Demetra, which is the codename for the next Idea release. There beside other things code coverage and should be integrated and the GUI designer will be made more easy-to-use. A lot more new features of Demetra can be found at the Demetra Roadmap.
