GDC Europe 09

Just received my badge and finished cheeck-in I’m back online Today I’ll take a look at several programming lectures including a racing AI session from Black Rock Studios (they developed Pure) and a session on procedural content generation (sounds fun ).

As this is my first non-academic conference I’m quite curious what the talks will bring. Support and registration is definitely top. You just go there and your name to a check-in laptop. At the next desk you badge is printed, all the goodies (remarkably low quantity) are bagged and handed over. Took 2 mins.

The audience is rather young, especially compared to academic conference. I fell like grandfather, especially as I’ve been told by my PhD that I start looking old
